Brief;

The client had reworked the back of the house and the contractors had laid an area of paving and put in a block retaining wall but it was unfinished. Bushy Business added in drainage, lighting and clad the walls with natural stone with a sandstone coping to match the paving that we completed. An are to the side was laid in Breedon self-binding gravel with some bespoke Oak raised beds against the house. Some reworking of areas around the swimming pool changed the use and feel of the area, adding brick paving in to match the existing, removing some border to have a snug seating area beside the pool along with some new walling and preparing some heavy clay soil and replanting the borders.

To the front, Bushy Business redesigned a flat, uninspiring area into a parterre with traditional low hedged beds filled with colour and interest near the house, and bespoke Oak raised beds further away for growing fruit, vegetables and cutting flowers for the house. All of this was surrounded by Yew hedging and Breedon gravel paths laid to a strong geometric grid, providing vistas, formality, and ease of maintenance to the beds and borders. The area became a stunning centrepiece to the entrance to the house.
