On Sunday 30th September ‘Team Bushy’ took on the Nuts Challenge near Dorking, Surrey, this was a charity mud run in aid of www.perennial.org.uk . Perennial are the UK’s only charity dedicated to helping people who work in horticulture when times get tough, so they mean a lot to us. We have had employees and family members in need of their financial advice and also help when they have experienced mental health issues and they have been nothing short of amazing.

You can see an example of what they do here;

bushybusiness nuts challengeThe decision to take on the Nuts Challenge was David’s, (I still haven’t fully forgiven him!) and 7 of us ‘jumped’ at the chance, so ‘Team Bushy’ was born. The weather was chilly, the water was cold, the ground was hard, the mud was slippery, and it was huge fun! I was relieved that there were participants slower than myself, David acted as my carer for the event to make sure I made it round in one piece; surely it was the bare minimum he could do?

The rest of the team, unhindered by me, made sure we walked off with the ‘Fastest Team Award’, with Roger coming second very close behind the ultra-marathon running winner.

A massive thank you has to go out to all of our sponsors who have helped us raise over a £1000.00 for Perennial, making a run round the woods on a chilly September morning more than worthwhile!
